Rushing Out the Door

Hi everyone! Today’s outfit is ridiculously simple, because I may or may not have forgotten that I was supposed to post today. But it worked really well for today’s activities, which included going shopping with my amazing mom and my older brother for a dress to wear to my upcoming homeschool prom. I love going places with my mom, even if it’s just a trip to the grocery store, because, in a family of six kids, spending  time with her is a rare treat. I love being able to talk to her and be girly in a way I can’t around my brothers. We had a great time trying on tons of dresses and eventually finding the perfect one. I can’t wait to share pics from the prom with you all! OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Dress: Nine West; Sandals: BCBGeneration;

This outfit is so easy and comfortable, especially now that the days are warming up. This is why I love dresses so much. Just pop one on, add a cute pair of shoes, and you’re ready. To take it from daytime to a cute dinner date, add a pair of earrings, some eyeshadow, a swipe of lipstick, and off you go!   I really hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day. I am so grateful for my mother and all she has done for me. All the love, the laughs, the hugs and the lessons. I can never thank her enough. I love you so much Mums, Bridget

Happy Mother’s Day from Hannah and Brooke

Happy Mother’s Day, everyone!  It’s a beautiful day today, and we’re here to honor a beautiful Mother.  Her heart is an ocean that’s inside a bigger ocean.  For years she’s been watching us with her super-mom-vision, finding things for us with her super-mom-finding-powers, and caring for us with her super-mom-heart.  Now it’s our turn to give something back.

Happy Mother’s Day Mumzy, and Mothers everywhere!! ❤

April Flowers

Okay, so it’s May. Fine: May Flowers. Doesn’t really have the same ring, does it?

And hey, these pictures were taken in April, so it’s not really that much of a stretch….

Anyway, back to the fashion.

I wore a slightly-altered flowy floral tank, (It originally had elastic sewn into the hem. Blegh.) a pair of denim crops, some really cute white wedges, and then pink jewelry, because the flowers on my top were pink and I was just feeling kind of…. pink.

Pro tip: If your dresses/skirts/crops/shorts hit at the widest part of either your calves or thighs, it isn’t flattering.

So there, now you can wear clothes like a pro!! 😛

And everyone will think your legs look long and slim. Which is always a plus.

It isn’t too late for me to gush about the shoes again, is it? Because they are adorable.

They’re actually Brooke’s, but since she only does nail posts, this was the only way they were getting on the blog.

And they really needed to be on the blog.

*Whispers*: The flowerssssss….

Anyway, once again, some of the stuff was bought on clearance or gifted, so we’ll just do our best here.

Top: Ross – Wedges: Shoe Carnival

Aaaaand everything else is a mystery.

Oh!! Wait!!! Except for the necklace, I got that at Six Flags like, ten years ago…

Well, this is Hannah, signing off. I’ll see (Post to? Make contact with?) y’all later!

Floral With a Vintage Flair!

Hello lovelies,

This post is extremely late this week due to bad weather and recovery from a weekend-long retreat I attended. I have been fortunate enough to be included on the Catholic Youth Leadership Team for my diocese and got to spend the entire year working with who are now some of my closest friends to plan the Annual Catholic Youth Convention. It was such a blessed experience and I hope I can do it again next year.

But I digress. I was so excited to learn that this week’s trend was floral because I had just received a vintage dress that my grandmother wore from my mom and I am absolutely in love with it! I have a huge crush on vintage-style clothing, especially from the 1940s-50s era.

Sandals: Born; Dress: Vintage, handmade, similar one here: Eshakti; Earrings: Handmade

This outfit is great for a busy summer day when you have tons of fun to get to, but you slept in! If your dress is a wrap one like mine, it’s super quick to get into. All you need to do next is pop on some cute sandals, a pair of earrings, and you’re ready to take on the world! For makeup I just did the basics: Foundation, Mascara, lip gloss and blush, but you could definitely play around with a bright red lip and a cat-eye for an extra retro feel. The messy bun is quick and a bit of a modern touch, but if you really want to go all out, you can add a headscarf and maybe even some curls!

I hope you all didn’t mind the wait too much, I apologize again, hopefully my next post will be on schedule!

Love you,

Floral Trend Introduction – Vintage Rose Wallpaper Nail Art

Hey everyone!! This week’s trend is floral, so I figured I’d post a rose manicure I did a few weeks back.

I started with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Nail Hardener, then applied two coats of Zoya Purity to my pointer and middle fingers. I used striping tape and Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet for the stripes, and acrylic paint for the roses and topped with HK Girl Top Coat. I love how vintage-y they look!! I then applied two coats of JulieG Gift of Gold, a sparkly antique gold texture, to my other fingers.

Anyway, thanks for looking! Have a great weekend!! =)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, lovelies!
I absolutely love this holiday and look forward to going to mass in a few hours with my family. It is always so beautiful and the best way I know to celebrate the rising of Christ! Of course, I will most likely be chowing down on candy, too.
Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all are having a great day!
For this Easter, we were going to have some friends over, but due to me getting sick and then getting my sister and mom sick, nobody is going to come over. I don’t mind that much, I think it’s great to just stay home and rest and celebrate Jesus’s resurrection at home. I made some cupcakes yesterday that were supposed to be birds nest, with coconut flakes as the sticks. But I put the chocolate egg on and it made it look like a football cupcake! Well, at least I know what to do for the Super Bowl. 😉
Happy Easter y’all!!
Sorry if this is a little brief. I’ve got a cold, and when you work at a Christian Bookstore; the week before Easter is really, really, busy. 😛
Anyway, my family usually celebrates Easter by watching the Jesus movie, reading scripture about the resurrection, and making resurrection cookies!
I hope everybody has a great time celebrating Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, no matter how ya do it!! 🙂
Happy Easter everyone!! So I’m celebrating Christ’s resurrection this year by making resurrection cookies, eating yummy food, and spending time with my awesome family. And, of course, being extremely grateful for God’s amazing gift of salvation!

Peach and Sage

Is it pastel season again already?! Gosh, time sure does fly….

Anyway, for my outfit I decided to go with a linen pastel peach-y button down; (maybe it’s more coral? I don’t know, it looks different every time I think I’ve figured it out) Some brown leather slip-on sandals; and a sage, brown, and cream vine patterned skirt.

Aaaaand I went with gold accessories. Because of the warmth of the (Peach? Coral?) top and the brown in my skirt and shoes.

Ta-da! It all matches.

An-nyway, I really like the (I’m just gonna say that the top’s peach, for the sake of speed) peach with the sage and browns, Of course, I love wearing green and peach anyway, so I’m a little biased.

Well, once again, a few of these are O. U. O.’s, but I’ll do my best. Just for you guys. You’re welcome. 😉

Button-down: I got it a few years ago from a friend, so no, I don’t know where you can get it. ~ Skirt: Made it with McCall’s M670 and fabric from Hancock.~ Shoes: Yeah, these are the ones I don’t know about, I got them clearanced somewhere, so you probably couldn’t get ’em anymore anyways.

Well, I guess that’s all folks! Y’all have a great Easter!!! 🙂

Pastel Tribal Nail Art

Hey everyone!! So I did this pastel tribal mani (inspired by Jaunty Juli on YouTube) for the nail art challenge I’m doing and knew it would be perfect for this week’s trend; pastels. (By the way, if you want to see more of my challenge manis, my Instagram is right here!)

I started with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Nail Hardener, applied two coats of Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac, and used a fan brush to drag on an unnamed greenish Color Club, Sally Hansen Brisk Blue, and some acrylic paints. I then used a small brush, a dotting tool, and white acrylic paint for the tribal design and topped everything with Glisten and Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

Thanks for looking!! Have a great Easter! =)

Vintage Pastels

Hello everyone!
I always associate Easter with spring-y pastel colors. I bought a chiffon skirt and t-strap heels, so I decided to make this outfit vintage styled.
I tucked my tank under my skirt and I tied a cardigan around my waist for more definition. I curled my hair with a 1 inch curling iron into ringlet curls and then brushed it out for very vintage looking curls. I also managed pretty well on my first real cat eye. (You can see it in the third picture if you look close.)
